Director/Snr BD Manager

This leadership role in Business Development and Product Marketing will be responsible for helping to shape and driving the company’s global revenue generation and new product strategy. The role will report directly to the VP of Marketing and Business Development. This position requires an executive with strong leadership and interpersonal skills, as well as experience in previous roles with the areas of product management, roadmap and product strategy and business development.


Required Skills & Experience:
Senior Business Development and Product Management executive with solid technical background (BSEE or ideally MSEE required), experience in power semiconductors and track record of building businesses around power management ICs. Must have a minimum of 12 years of experience in product marketing, business development and technical product development with a track record of being able to win new designs and grow revenues with advanced products.


The ideal candidate will have existing knowledge and relationships in some segment of the industrial power semiconductor market and experience selling to customers in industrial end markets (Server, Motor Control, Power Conversion, Inverters, Charging, Automotive, etc.). He / she will be capable of engaging with new customers, defining and engaging eco-system partners, finding active development projects, providing / coordinating technical support, and ultimately winning new designs. The responsibilities also include managing and training our rep and distribution network with focus on Taiwan, Korea and support to our existing team in China. As a key leader in the marketing team, this person will have strong involvement into the new product roadmap and definitions. This person will need to be able manage without supervision and be able to motivate engineering, operations, and sales support teams to support the business objectives and growth in partnership with the VP of Marketing/BD and VP of engineering.


Primary Responsibilities:
• Set and achieve design win, new product introduction, and revenue goals for your regions
• Identify and engage target customers in both direct and channel partners.
• Find new customer programs, understand and articulate customer requirements, timing, decision criteria, and competitive solutions.
• Work closely with the VP of Business development and other marketing/sales team members to develop strong value proposition, sales collateral, product roadmaps, promotion strategy, trade plans, MARCOM       requirements.
• Lead roadmap requirements for your regions customers and Marketing Requirement Documents defining future products.
• Act as a significant contributor to the engineering project prioritization process.
• Communicate technical product status to management.
• Significant travel involved (variable depending on the situation, but probably averages 30% ~ 50%).

Reliability & Quality Engineer

Solantro, a fabless semiconductor company, immediately requires a Reliability & Quality Engineer for a multi-faceted role in the Operations, Reliability & Quality group. The position requires a motivated person who can work alone and in groups, take independent ownership of tasks, and drive them to completion. Key areas of knowledge include: Quality Management Systems; Customer and Supplier Quality; Product Reliability Qualification; Certification Standards; Semiconductors and Electronics.


Required Skills & Experience:
Bachelors’ degree from a university of applied sciences, preferably in Electrical Engineering.
10+ years of direct involvement in reliability & quality engineering/management in the electronics field.
Practical knowledge of engineering related to semiconductor devices and electronics.
Knowledge and experience with power electronics is an asset. Experience in implementing and deploying quality management systems.
Knowledge of ISO 9001 required. Knowledge of ISO 16949 is an asset. Experience in qualification and certification of electronic products.
Knowledge of JEDEC standards required.
Knowledge of AEC Q100 is an asset. Strong problem-solving skills.
Strong knowledge of English verbal communication, reading, and writing.
Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word skills.
Database knowledge/experience is an asset.


Primary Responsibilities:
• Take a lead role in coordinating and executing implementation of the corporate quality management system, compliant to ISO 9001.
• Create and lead multidisciplinary teams to implement improvements in the quality system.
• Training of employees on quality system procedures, and periodic auditing.
• Assist during external auditors as host auditee.
• Create process and procedure documents for Operations. Assist other departments in creating effective process documentation.
• Assist in streamlining and merging quality record systems across the company.
• Plan, execute, and report on product characterization, qualification, and certification tests, both in-house and at contract test facilities. Includes existing standards, and custom-developed in-house tests.
• Perform root-cause analysis, organizing cross-functional teams as necessary, and write 8D reports.
• Manage ongoing testing on released products.
• Provide clear and concise reporting on all activities.

Lab Technologist

We are looking for an experienced Lab Technologist to help us build & test PCB boards that use Solantro IC’s. This position reports to the Manager of Operations, Reliability & Quality.


Required Skills & Experience:
Minimum Electronics Technologist graduate with 5 years progressive hands-on experience in building, repair, & testing of PCB boards
Knowledge & experience in use of power electronics & semiconductor test equipment
Practical knowledge of engineering related to semiconductor devices and electronics.
Knowledge and experience with power electronics is an asset. Experience in implementing and deploying quality management systems.
Very good soldering & board repair skills
Effective knowledge of Microsoft Office
Experience in programming data-loggers & other lab equipment software a plus
Excellent analytical skills, very organized, with keen attention to details
Good verbal & written communications skills
A self-starter – able to work independently, as well as part of a team, on multiple tasks concurrently – with flexibility to adjust to changing priorities


Primary Responsibilities:
• Fulfill PCB board orders from customers – includes BOM review, components ordering, preparing component kits, calibration, testing, & repair of boards if needed
• From engineering instructions, using laboratory equipment, develop, write & execute test procedures for the boards
• Organize & manage all the equipment & components inventory in the Operations Lab
• Other tasks as directed by the Manager of Operations, Reliability & Quality
